About me and my practice

I work primarily in a person centred way, I take my cues from you and help you to explore what is on your mind and help you navigate through this. I draw from many different counselling approaches but I believe the therapeutic relationship we build together is key. I have previously volunteered at a Womenscentre, focusing on mental health, domestic abuse and relationships.I currently work part time at a hospice doing one to one counselling with pre and post bereavement primarily, but not exclusively. Other issues are also part of the sessions such as abuse, relationships, anxiety, childhood, trauma, identity. I work only with adults at the moment.
I like to work with people as individuals, with preconceptions and help to work towards what's important to them. I believe childhood creates blueprints form how we relate to others and how we cope as adults but I also believe there are many other factors to explore. I want to support you, to support you!I am also happy to work creatively, with art and writing if this feels useful or appropriate

Experience

As previously mentioned I work at a hospice, supporting families, carers and patients. I have volunteered a Womescentre co facilitating a confidence group and a relationship group. I worked as a floating support worker prior to the hospice which involved some mental health support.

Qualifications

Level 7 post grad diploma in counselling and psychotherapy
Bsc Hons degree in counselling studies

To get a sense of whether we will work well together I offer a 15 minute free consultation. This is a chance for you to tell me a little bit about yourself, and for me to have the opportunity to introduce myself too

Fees

I offer 50 minute sessions for £45.00
